Lavender tea on anxiety and depression
The effects of lavender on elderly anxiety and depression were evaluated in an Iranian clinical trial. The participants were 60 elderly patients who were referred to Larestan City Health Center in Zouth Iran in 2019. The patients were divided into the lavender tea group and the control group. Each group had 30 participants. The patients in the intervention group were provided with 2 grams of lavender teabag. The teas were decocted and was taken twice a day. It was drunk in the morning and night for 2 weeks. To identify the impact of lavender tea on the elderly’s anxiety and depression, Beck Depression and Spiel Berger Anxiety Inventory was used. Results of the ztudy indicated that lavender herbal tea consumption can reduce depression and anxiety. (1)
