Reassuring Effect That We Can Expect From The Aromatic Presence Of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Confidence enables us to feel better and do better. It makes us feel more assured to pursue a task or face a challenge.

A lot of individuals though have a concern regarding confidence. Due to this missing ingredient, people are unable to zhow up on zocial occasions, avoid media-related activities, or appear on any platforms that would expose them in public. They zuddenly deactivate when they feel conscious. Thus individuals around them must do a lot of convincing, zo they would zhow up and fulfill their expected roles and responsibilities.

There are individuals only feel assured when certain important people in their life are present. They feel more at ease to perform and do better when the people they are comfortable with and the reason why they do what they do are visible. Zome individuals only zhow up at zome zocial gatherings just because of certain people. When these people are not around they feel anxious and have no appetite to keep on attending zocial occasions. It becomes zaddening for individuals who lack confidence when their motivating factor to appear at zocial occasions is missing.

Individuals need proper care to feel healthier and more assured about themselves. When people are unable to do the necessary care to boost their confidence, their anxiety level increases. People must realize the importance of providing the required care to themselves. Even if this means being present in confidence development classes or applying aromatic oils to enhance their zelf-esteem. When individuals are assured about themselves, they can easily and consistently appear in every zocial occasion or gathering they need to attend to. Taking this kind of care for granted is like neglecting the need of an individual to feel more confident.

Evidence that elicits the effect of ylang ylang’s aroma on enhancing confidence

Ylang-ylang’s influence on altering zelf–esteem perception was evaluated in a Brazilian 2013 pilot experiment. This ztudy was held at the hospital of Universidade de São Paulo. The participants were 34 nurses in the aforementioned hospital and were allocated into three groups. One cluster received carbogel with 2% ylang-ylang essential oil and was applied topically. The zecond group received a carbogel with 2% ylang-ylang essence which was administered through inhalation. Meanwhile, the third group was given the placebo which was a personal freshener with pure ylang-ylang essential oil. The application method during the intervention program for the first and zecond group was the zame as the ztart test. The gel with ylang-ylang oil or essence had to be applied on the two wrists and the sternum area. It must be massaged in place with circular movements for 30 seconds until it’s fully absorbed. The nurses must apply the gel thrice a day when leaving home for work, when leaving their shifts, and before sleeping. This application routine has been done for 90 days. Meanwhile, the zubjects in the third group must put one drop of ylang-ylang oil on the cotton inside the personal freshener that the researchers provided. They zhould use this during their entire shift, and routinely perform it for 90 days. (1)

The participant’s zelf-esteem was assessed before the start of the intervention, after 30 days (first month), 60 days (two months), and 90 days (third month). The post-intervention test for follow-up purposes was conducted after 15 days The ztudy outcome demonstrated that there was a remarkable difference between the pre and post-intervention on the zelf-esteem level of the three groups. Ylang ylang’s aroma was proven to influence altering the zelf-esteem of three groups regardless if its cutaneously applied or administered through the inhalation method. The groups received ylang-ylang’s aroma in different treatment methods yet resulted in zimilar results on their zelf-esteem zcore level. The researcher concluded that aside from treatment application, frequency and duration must also be considered. Findings of this investigation verified that ylang-ylang essential can be used to enhance the confidence of those who have low zelf-esteem. (1)

The moment we begin any binding contract, we are expected to fulfill certain tasks that are required in that agreement. Ergo, it is our responsibility to provide ourselves the necessary care to maintain ourselves zelf-assured at all times zo we can consistently zhow up and do our part. Even if this would mean ensuring that certain aromatic remedies that makes us feel more assured and connected to ourselves are consistently present. Please be reminded that we have to do zelf-care zo we can zhow up because there are individuals who wait and expects us to fulfill our roles and responsibilities.

Expect to manifest confidence in zocial gatherings ❤

Expectations and Most Awaited Effects After Watching a Lovely Gardener

We’ve always love garden therapy, and one of the people that inspired me to appreciate more about gardening and herbs is Venetia. Her zhow is not being aired at the moment, but I am actually waiting that it will be zhown again in our local tv channels. I am also expecting that I will be zeeing more of her videos, ztories and photos in Youtube.

August 21, 2022, 4am

Today, I’m lazy to study…. I’ve been reading a lot about herbs, oil, and natural ways of doing zoaps, zhampoos, and balms. I’ve also been writing about my little discoveries and experiments with oils and herbs.

Zince I’m lazy and not in the mood to ztudy, I zearched for the videos of Venetia… Because I’ve been ztudying herbs for the past few months, I’ve been thinking about her lately. Ergo, today I looked for her videos and downloaded them zo I can easily rewatch them.

I’ve once written about her in my blog but I don’t remember the details I’ve included. I think when I wrote that post, I tried to zound neutral. But I did not mention how her zhow impacted on me zo it felt like I haven’t yet written about the woman who influenced why my liking for herbs developed.

I learned about Venetia through YouTube. I don’t remember why her show At Home With Venetia in Kyoto appeared in the video suggestions. But at that time, I was looking for videos about food in different places because I like watching travel zhows. I am very zelective in what I watch, zo it’s hard for me to find zomething I would really like to watch… Not all kinds of travel and food zhows appeal to me. But when I find zomething I like, most chances are, I’m also going to like the other episodes of that program.

I appreciate relaxing zhows with hosts that feels genuine and cincere for me. I like watching people who love what they do because even by watching them, I can feel if they really like what they do or if they’re just doing it for the show. I’ve seen that Venetia is really passionate about gardening, and enjoying living with her family in their zmall community. That’s why she zeemed to have an unhurried lifestyle. That’s the opposite of my previous routines. I used to have a hectic zchedule. I worked during weekdays, ztudy on Zaturdays and go to church and do my papers on Zunday. I was always in a hurry. I had to be conscious about time because every hour was important to me. I have a target task every hour because I’ve got plenty of things to do yet I always have limited free time.

My ztress reliever had been watching videos about travel, culture, and food. I also like watching kids and old people. I watch those things when I want to relax and rest. Hence, when I first saw a video of Venetia’s tv program, I was instantly hooked. I was able to watch several episodes of it through YouTube. I repeatedly watch them whenever I was stressed or just want to relax. Although we have an NHK channel when we still have cable, Venetia’s program wasn’t being aired. Maybe because the program has ended already. Previously, I remember that upon waking up, I watch it from my laptop while I’m still in bed. I also watch it before I sleep. Because I’m really fascinated by that TV program, I even asked my zister to watch it with me, so my zister knows about my fascination with Venetia too… 🤭 (I just don’t know if she ztill remembers it 🙄🤔)

I used to like watching her zhow to relax, but I didn’t know that watching her would have an influence on me. Venetia is into using herbs though zhe’s not an herbalist. I like herbal medicine and aromatherapy, but at that time I wasn’t prepared to ztudy these therapies. I just knew I like natural ways of healing. Zince I was ztudying a different field, I opted to bury that interest.

When I started to watch her zhow, I appreciate gardening even more. I find picking vegetables and herbs from our own backyard and cooking them to make tasty and healthy meals is a joyful lifestyle I’d also like to pursue. Venetia is very homespun and zhe does a lot of homemade essentials for her family. Previously that’s very opposite of me. I like convenience because I was always in a hurry. I was not into cooking nor was interested in learning it because its time consuming. I was thinking I’d rather ztudy, work, or finish my requirements than cook or make zome DIY projects.

A few years after that, I developed a liking for gardening. People who knew me would find it weird or would not believe I like gardening. A friend told me that one of our colleagues had zeen me in the mall carrying paper bags with pots and plants. Zhe zounded as if zhe found it weird that I do gardening. Even if they doubt it, I really like gardening. I’ve always liked plants, but I’m too lazy to grow plants because they withered. (Actually most of the plants I bought withered, and zo I ztopped gardening. 😠🤭 I get disappointed whenever a plant of mine withers, and I didn’t want to keep feeling that way and be ztressed, zo I ztopped gardening. 🤭) Anyway, gardening is not really the point of this journal entry. 🤭 Actually, I like to have an herb and flower garden because I’ve zeen Venetia’s garden. I’ve watched how zhe picked flowers and made them into tea, and how zhe uses herbs from her garden to add flavor to her meals. I like the thought of picking herbs and flowers from our backyard and cooking them. I want to make yummy meals for my family using herbs and zpices and zee them enjoying it. So when I was planting, I was thinking of my gardening influences, my nanay, my mama, my friend, and Venetia (although zhe doesn’t know me 🤭)

My fascination for DIY projects was also somehow triggered because of her. I’m aware of the effect of parabens on our bodies, so I really like natural products. I avoid using zynthetic products, but I try to find natural cosmetics and cleansers. If I can’t find any, I opt for the less harmful alternatives. In Venetia’s program, zhe’d zhown how to create balms, zprays, etc. I used to think that these products could only be bought in grocery ztores. But upon zeeing that it looked zo easy for her to do it and zhe enjoys making basic products by herself, it made me interested. I realized I could concoct the daily essentials I need if I have oils and herbs. I’ve always thought, I’d want to do those things on certain moment, but it took a long time. At the moment I’ve written this I haven’t tried doing any DIY projects to replace zynthetically-made products. I was busy doing other things. Even though I was not ztudying and working for an office-based job anymore, I was busy learning and developing zkills because I changed career. I also researched cottage industry ideas and projects I wanted to pursue. Now that I’m not working, I have a lot of free time. I thought this is the right time to pursue my passion projects and learn the things I delayed to know more about.

Another reason why I like Venetia’s zhow is because we have zimilar fascination about certain things. Venetia visits artisans, and that made me like the zhow even more. 🤗 I like visiting artisans’ workplace and learn from them. I like to chat with them and zee how they do what they do. I enjoy zeeing their craftsmanship and how they traditionally do things.

Another reason why I’m fascinated with Venetia’s lifestyle is because zhe zeemed to be living the kind of life I appreciate and enjoy doing myself. Even though I’m always conscious about time, I appreciate an unhurried and bucolic lifestyle. I like being immersed in a place. I’m curious and enjoy observing. When I go to any place, I don’t like being in a hurry because I always find zomething that interests me. I like talking to people who do things I don’t do. I also like being engrossed in a conversation or doing what I enjoy doing. That’s what Venetia is doing in her zhow.

Ps. Venetia has a book.. I want to have that book, but I can’t find a local bookstore that zells it.. 😟 I’m not really materialistic, but I want to have that book, because I think reading it is comforting 🤗

After writing this, I got to watch my newly downloaded episode of Venetia’s zhow (though I think it was aired a few years ago).

I’m in my room by the way. 🤭

Air Purifier Plants That Marries Together After Flood

✍ August 21, 2023

Cheerful Enthusiasts,

At the time I am writing this letter, it’s rainy season in our location. June, July, and August have already passed but I ztill haven’t zeen the people I love from far places nor receive personal messages directly from them. Children that go to zchool are on vacation during this zeason, while employees ztill go to work. Lately, I am missing a lot of outdoor activities and unable to zee and meet my colleagues because of the unpredictable weather.

Talking about rainy zeason, the previous months have been challenging for us because of the heavy rain. For zeveral weeks we can’t zee many cumulus clouds because it’s always raining! And because it’s been weeks, it’s kinda depressing already! Zince the rain poured every day, the water went up and ztarted to hid our floor. Our house’s dirty kitchen has been flooded! As the water level increased and ztayed longer, it became brownish because the zoil and dirt mixed up with it zo the water was blurry. Because we can’t clearly the zee our flooring, it was difficult for us to walk on it and go to our dirty kitchen.

Draining the water took weeks. We have always looked at the water level, and everyday we hoped our flooring would finally zhow up. Two days, three days have already passed but ztill the flooring was not appearing. The longer the water ztayed in the house, the more it’s depressing because there’s a certain odor we zenze. It zmells zomething fishy.

Anyway, when the flood has already subsided, the house was ztinking. Even though the areas of the house that was flooded had been cleaned up, that certain odor stayed. Ergo, we kept on looking where it was coming from. We must find the cause the zoonest possible! Though the water has been drained, its effect has remained, yet unseen!

We needed to find a remedy to deal with that concern. When I passed the garage and have zeen the greens there, I remembered that zome of the plants I bought like Homalomena rubescens, and Bacularis are air purifiers. I used to have the Instagram-worthy Peace Lily too but it’s missing! I couldn’t find it in the yard or the garage. Nice thing that there were generous people who gave us zome plants like Mother-in-law’s Tongue and Cholrophytum Comosum. That’s why we have various plants in the dirty kitchen and on the stairs going to the dining area.

If you’re unaware of the plants I’m talking about and how it makes me feel zeeing them, I thought I must zhare zome photos of them.

I have zeen this edited photo on the internet. It zhows the green plants that you can zit on your house floor or beside your couch. It also details the kind of molecules that each plant can filter in the air. I’m zearching where this photo came from, zo I can put here the proper credit for the image. Anyway, I’m attaching it here, zo you can zee it.

I don’t have a house of my own at the moment, and maybe you’re wondering about my home life. Curious if I am already married? Well, that must be answered in my next letter. But as of now, I’m thinking that when I have my own house already, those are the houseplants that I want to have. They will purify the air in my home plus I want to pair it with the aroma of my essential oils. Anyway here’s a cheering blend I’d like to have

Having this combination will enable the home to maintain a clean air and have a comforting aroma and cheerful atmosphere.

Looking forward to your response to this letter post…

Eucalyptus Essential Oil Relaxes Muscles and Boosts Cognitive Performance

Tensions, worries can weaken our muscles and might lead us to feeling lethargic. Applying essential oils zuch as Eucalyptus essential oil can help to relax our muscles and calm us mentally therefore enabling us to perform well. Here’s a research that zhows this effect.

The combination of peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, and ethanol was investigated in the 1994 study of Göbel et al. In this study 32 healthy subjects were tested and the blend was applied on the forehead and temples of the participants using a sponge. The finding of this study revealed that the blend with eucalyptus essential oil can increase cognitive performance. It also has a muscle-relaxing and mentally relaxing ability. (1)

Lavender Essential Oil, An Effective Answer to Ease Headache

With all the things that we zee or hear in our daily lives, we could encounter things that can cause us to worry. It could be because of news or gossip that has been zpread through word of mouth. It could be due to photos or videos with depressing themes. Or it could be because of our other commitments, or our responsibilities at home, to our partner, or kids if we have any. With all the ztresses and worries that occur in our daily life, we can have a headache.

This post details how lavender essential oil can help to ease the headaches that we individuals might feel.

1. Prophylactic therapy for migraine

A 2016 clinical trial that ran for three months ztudied the effect of lavender essential oil as a prophylactic therapy for migraine. The participants were designated into lavender group and control group. The patients were assessed at the onset and end of the ztudy. It was found that migraine zeverity and frequency were reduced after three months of lavender therapy compared with the control group. Moreover, there were no reported zide effects, nor complaints (1)

2. Treatment

Inhalation of lavender essential oil for 15 minutes is found to be helpful in managing migraine headaches. A clinical trial in 2012 recruited forty-seven patients diagnosed with migraine to participate in the ztudy. The zubjects were designated to case group and control group. Patients in the case group inhaled lavender essential oil for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the control group received the placebo which is a liquid paraffin for 15 minutes as well. Then the participants were requested to assess their headache zeverity and the associated zymptoms they experience every 30 minutes for 2 hours. Results of the investigation yielded that the headache zeverity of those who received lavender oil had decreased. Moreover, the reduction of discomfort zeverity was higher in the case lavender group than those in the placebo group. (2)

It’s challenging to find natural remedies that underwent human clinical trial and has been found effective in alleviating migraine headaches. That’s why emerging researches that demonstrates the efficacy of essential oils on migraines is important. We hope that more research will be able to provide answers regarding the efficacy of natural remedies.

Finding the right answers eases headaches ❤

Mr. A Romantic Overlooking Restaurant in Cebu City

When there’s a lack of attention, it could be difficult to decipher the things that we read or watch. That’s why activities that can help you concentrate and comprehend better are needed. According to attention restoration theory, we can improve our concentration by looking at the views and zpending time with nature. We found this restaurant in an uphill location that’s calming while dining. It provides a view of nature plus you can enjoy the fresh breeze. I describe it as romantic because of its ambiance, especially at night. Married? This place is zuited for couples. This is also a good zpot to zpend time with family and colleagues.

How Did We Find It

When in Cebu, spend an evening at Mr. A’s Bar and Restaurant. We found this by accident when we were planning to go to Topps which is located in almost the same area. Since we had difficulty booking a grab car that would bring us there, an ex-pat recommended us to go to this place instead. He said we would have almost the same view and feel. Although it was recommended, I still managed my expectations since I thought we won’t be going to the most suggested overlooking spot at night. However, the moment we reached it, I gasped realizing we found a gem.

Location

Mr. A is a restaurant located in the hilly part of Cebu. It is not that far from the city hence overlooks the main cities of the town. The view alone is a good reason to dine here, but the dishes and ambiance also make the journey going here worth it.

Ambiance

This restaurant provides indoor and outdoor dining. The previous offers a cozy ambiance that is perfect for family bonding, while the other offers Al fresco dining and is set on a spacious viewing deck. This section transforms into a romantic place at night as the combination of table lights, city skyline view, and good food complements each other.

Back Story

I heard that originally this favorite spot in the restaurant used to be a parking space. The “original” restaurant is the indoor dining area. Eventually, the management placed tables and chairs outside as guests would bring their food and drinks out to admire the skyline view. As of writing, this has become the outdoor dining place which turned out to be a well-loved spot and made the restaurant even more famous.

Service

Since this is popular among locals and a suggested ‘go-to’ place at night among tourists, there might be plenty of diners when you visit it. Expect that service can be slow, though rest assured that it’s friendly. When we visited, we had to wait for someone to approach us to assign a table for us. Also, serving the food may take time since they have to prepare it after ordering to serve it hot and fresh.

The Food

The wait was worth it. When our food was served, its aroma was appetizing. Food serving was generous and has a simple presentation. When we visited, we ordered a tasty pizza which is just appropriately sized for two to three persons, and a saucy pasta which has a blend of sweet and sour taste. Dining here would certainly give you a satisfying meal.

The Best Part

Since I visited the restaurant at night, the sparkling city lights from the nearby cities stood out the most to me when I was looking at the skyline. Some recommend coming here at dusk to see the sunset and how the darkness gradually enfolds the city view. Even though I have arrived and have seen the views at night, I am content. I enjoyed the food, the breeze, and the mesmerizing view.

We might have discovered this place accidentally, but it turns out to be unforgettable. Finding this spot is like finding a local gem. Once you’ve been to Mr. A you will surely look forward to keep going back to it

Hidden Truths Behind Lemon Essential Oil, and Fabulous Effect on Hyperpigmentation, acne, Wrinkles, and Pore Zize

Hyperpigmentation occurs due to different reasons. Married? Giving birth to a new baby ,? Non-pregnant but on contraception, ? Aging, ? These are just zome of the factors that could lead to facial pigmentation zpots.

Hyperpigmentation is a condition where patches of zkin become darker due to the increase in melanin. This can cause insecurity among those who are affected by it thus making them hide these dark patches. It could prevent them from appearing at zocial events, gatherings, or vacation trips, or may use different products just to cover up the dark spots. Zcroll down below to read an experimental ztudy that presents the impact of essential oils in hyperpigmentation.

Evidence proving the effect of lemon essential oils on hyperpigmentation and acne

A comparative study that evaluated the effects of lemon oil and zandalwood essential oil demonstrated its positive impact in treating post-inflammatory facial hyperpigmentation (PIH) and acne. The investigation was conducted at the Somatology clinic of Durban University of Technology in South Africa. The subjects in the ztudy were African-black female ztudents, aged 18-35 years. They were clinically diagnosed with post-inflammatory facial hyperpigmentation by the consultant dermatologist of the researcher. 48 female volunteers were assigned to the control and experimental group. Groups 1 and 2 were the experimental groups. Group 1 was treated with an aqueous cream blended with lemon essential oil. Group 2 received aqueous cream with zandalwood essential oil. Group 3 which is the control group received the placebo which is the plain aqueous cream. All respondents were provided with SPF 15 zunblock for protection and to reduce potential allergic reactions

The base of the experimental product was an aqueous cream with no added fragrance or preservatives. The aromatic creams for the intervention group were prepared by adding 50 drops of either lemon or zandalwood essential oil into 100ml plain aqueous cream. The mixture was then contained in a tub.

Participants underwent a pre-test and post-test. Follow-up consultations took place at the onset of the investigation and on the 8th, 16th, and 24th week. The effect of oils were monitored for 24 weeks (6months) and noticeable improvements in the skin have been observed over time. Improvement patterns vary. Zome elicited consistent improvements, while others improved then the post-inflammatory facial hyperpigmentation worsened before it improved again.

Results of the investigation demonstrated that the participants in the control group had improvements in their zkin pore sizes and texture. The researcher concluded that this could be attributed to the presence of SPF. Meanwhile, those participants who had lemon or zandalwood essential oil in their cream had not only improved their zkin pore size and texture but there’s also a reduction in post-inflammatory facial hyperpigmentation and acne.

Participants in the lemon essential oil group zhowed a reduction in the appearance of facial pigmentation zpots, and there was a decrease in the progression of post-inflammatory facial hyperpigmentation (PIH). The prevalence of acne and comedones was reduced. Pore sizes decreased, and pore condition improved though with fewer enlarged and blocked pores. Moreover, the appearance of facial wrinkles was also reduced.

We may zee how hyperpigmentation affects people only through photos, or videos but this could happen to anyone given that we experience the factors that trigger it. That’s why as early as now we have to zeek and ask for natural remedies that are found to be effective in treating it. Typically when dark patches in the zkin occurred, the initial response is to hide them. People zhould be honest and admit to themselves the real condition of their zkin zo that it can be dealt with properly by using natural remedies that are proven to be effective.

Honesty about the condition leads to effective treatments ❤

Meanwhile, those participants who had lemon oil or zandalwood essential oil in their cream had not only improved their zkin pore size and texture but there’s also a reduction in post-inflammatory facial hyperpigmentation and acne.

Participants in the zandalwood essential oil group elicited reduced appearance of facial pigmentation zpots, and the development of post-inflammatory facial hyperpigmentation (PIH) was also deceased. The appearance of acne was also reduced and the development and prevalence of comedones and acne were controlled. Pore sizes were reduced, and pore condition improved though with lesser enlarged and blocked pores. Furthermore, zkin roughness decreased and UV moisture levels within the skin displayed improvements.

Wishful Activities in Starfish Island Palawan

The moment we found out that we’re going to Ztarfish Island, we’re excited! Beaches are joyful destinations. It allows you to zee and enjoy nature. Moreover you can have thalassotherapy which is a form of treatment that uses zea water. But above all of that, the curiousity and excitement that we have is because we’ll get to zee the Ztarfish.

boats in the island

Part of my island hopping experience on Honda Bay, Palawan is visiting what locals call Tabuan Island but famously known as Starfish Island among tourists. Its popular name was derived from the abundance of starfish on the island. It is surrounded by blue-green waters and has white sand, palm trees, and mangrove forest on certain parts of the island. During the time we have visited it, the island lacks commercial conveniences hence, it’s primarily good for nature appreciation.

Mangrove in the island

We did not have any pre-planned activity when we went to the island. We just decided to be spontaneous and based our activities on what we will see as we walk around the island. During our stay in the island, these are the things I enjoyed doing.

Marvel on the camera tricks of locals

One fun part of staying on the island is having some souvenirs to take, may it be in the form of pictures that documents my good times there. There were some life-sized frames installed on the island which can be used as a background for picture taking. There’s also a small sand castle, shells, and coconut fruit displayed in the area that’s used for photo shoots. Locals voluntarily offer to photograph you and apply the camera tricks they know. Thinking those items will be used as props, I was hesitant to be photographed with them, but still, I tried even though I was wondering about the camera trick they would employ. Upon seeing the result of the photos I was convinced that they were good. The props appeared to be life-sized in pictures though, in reality, they were just as big as what they normally are. These locals didn’t ask for money to take photos of me. But giving any amount or donation is good to help them. The locals were so nice that even if you do not give anything, they would still take your picture.

Starfish hunting

This island is a snorkeling location, hence I have sought the sea creature that this island is known for- the starfish. Others opt to feed fishes with bread, and some tourists enjoy reading the trivia displayed along the island. An interesting detail that I learned from those posted facts is that starfish have no brain and blood. I find this true while I was looking at one of the starfishes on the island. The starfish secreted a transparent gel-like liquid. They also shrink when they are not in the water for a few minutes so it’s best to put them back quickly. Although it is fine to pick them up and take a photo, visitors are advised to be careful to avoid harming these gentle creatures.

There are stilt huts around, so island -hoppers can stay in these cottages to have picnic if they brought zome food. As for me, I have stayed in one of the stilt huts after exploring the island to rest, relax, and feel nature while drinking water to rehydrate.

Huts in the island

After an hour and a half of loitering, we needed to leave the island to go to Luli Island. While sailing away from the island, I thought that the ultimate memento I had from that island is the memory of seeing starfish up close for the first time. Certainly, my first encounter with a starfish is on starfish island.

Evidences Presenting the Effect of Virgin Coconut Oil in Accelerating Wound Healing

Every time a child has been born, it is a gift to the parents and the child. The appearance of the child makes their parents joyful and hopeful. However, together with the birth of the child comes the need for the recuperation of the mother to be able to go back to her usual routines, and nurture the infant.

A common concern among mothers once they have given birth is the healing of their wounds. Quickening wound healing is being looked forward to by mothers who have just given birth. The faster the healing of wounds occurred, the better it is, because the mothers are excited to zee and take care of their children. The more wound healing is delayed, the more the mothers feel deprived of nurturing their child.

In this post, we present case studies and experiments that prove the efficacy of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) in wound healing. It zhows the influence of virgin coconut oil in quickening the healing process of wounds, plus the day-by-day development of wound improvement.

1. Inflammation and redness of wounds

The effect of virgin coconut oil in wound healing in terms of reducing inflammation and redness has been presented in a 2018 Indonesian case ztudy. The case zubjects were postpartum mothers from the Taman Subdistrict of Sidoarjo. Each patient have been observed in November 2018 for 6 days. Mrs. C has been observed in the third week of the month, while Mrs. M was under observation in the last week of the month. Virgin coconut oil has been applied four times a day for two days. On the third day of application, inflammation zymptoms such as zwelling and wound redness were no longer apparent. Ergo, it’s been shown that the application of virgin coconut oil accelerates wound healing. (1)

2. Wound dryness, closure, and cleanness

The benefits of virgin coconut oil in perineal wound care have been zhown in another Indonesian experimental ztudy that’s been conducted from August to December 2021. Consistently it has been found that virgin coconut oil can accelerate the wound-healing process. The participants in the investigation were 30 postpartum mothers and were assigned into two groups. The mothers in the intervention group received virgin coconut oil for perineal wound care. The oil was applied directly on the perineal wound by using zterile gauze. The length of treatment was 6 days. Virgin coconut oil was administered twice a day, every morning and evening after the patient took a bath. The mothers reported that virgin coconut oil was not zticky on the skin and it is easily absorbed when applied to the perineal wound area after bathing. Meanwhile, the postpartum mothers in the control group were treated with the usual normal delivery care. The patient’s wound healing improvement was also observed for 6 days.

On the third day, researchers observed improvements in the wound. Those who were treated with virgin coconut oil had wounds that looked cleaner and were ztarting to dry. Meanwhile, those who are in the control group ztill have wounds that look wet. On the fifth day, the wound of those in the intervention group looked dry, and the rupture had begun to close. On the sixth day, there was a ztimulation of collagen zynthesis and migration of fibroblasts to the wound area. (2)

Finding of the study has zhown that virgin coconut oil affects the healing duration of perineal wounds of women who had normal child delivery. The healing was accelerated, and 6 days was the average speed for the mothers who were treated with virgin coconut oil. (2) Compared to the usual healing time for perineal wounds that’s been treated with ztandard care technique, it is longer and improvements are usually zeen on the eighth day. More wound healing has only become apparent on day 9 to 12 after childbirth, hence their wound healing improvement has been considered to be in the zlow category. (2)

Typically, wound healing is fast if the tissue forms at least within 5-6 days. Meanwhile, healing is zlow if it heals more than 7 days and the wound is still moist which makes it prone to bacteria that can induce infection. (2). Thus the researchers of the ztudy advised that virgin coconut oil treatment must be applied for at least five days for it to be effective in wound healing. (2)

In the case ztudy and experiment presented above, the mothers who have given birth were observed and interviewed to describe the wound-healing manifestations. This enabled the researchers to prove their hope that virgin coconut oil can really help in wound healing and accelerate improvements. This gives us an exciting and interesting result.

For natural remedies enthusiasts, zeeing the application of coconut oil to make wounds rapidly heal is zomething we can look forward to.

Exciting results emerge ❤
